Challenge Success and Lean In Girls are coming together to shed light on the current state of K-12 girls’ experiences, including their well-being, engagement in learning, and sense of belonging. Together we will explore the barriers that prevent girls from stepping into leadership roles, challenging traditional and unnecessarily limiting definitions of success. Lean In Girls emphasizes that leadership isn’t just for adults—youth can and do lead now, and this webinar will highlight how to empower young girls to embrace their leadership potential.

Presenters include Erikka Moreno, Director of Lean In Girls Partnerships, Denise Pope, Challenge Success Co-Founder and Strategic Adviser, and a member of the Challenge Success Student Advisory Council. In our work with schools, we have found that there is often a disconnect between what adults say they value and what young people perceive that society values. While adults often define success as including well-being, supportive relationships, joy, and purpose, students frequently receive the message that society values high grades, prestigious colleges, and high income above all else. Challenge Success advocates expanding our definitions of success for young people to include a celebration of their unique assets and identities, their well-being, and their academic pursuits.

A recording of the event will be sent to all registrants after the webinar.
