These are the expectations weighing on high school students as they navigate today’s competitive education system.

The demanding culture of academic excellence pervading high schools exhausts students, leading to a lack of engagement, lack of well-being and lack of belonging all over the world. And in recent years, experts say, the problem has only gotten worse.
